The Assessor is responsible for the assessment of all taxable real and personal property within the county. The office maintains ownership records and related mailing addresses and property tax maps for all properties within Josephine County as well as administer exemptions and special assessments of specific properties. The office also reviews the proposed tax district rates and levies and computes the tax bill of each property.
The Treasurer and Tax Collector is responsible for collecting all taxes assessed on real and personal property in Josephine County for the benefit of all taxing districts as well as the collection, distribution and investment of monies for all Josephine County Funds and Treasurer's trust and agency funds, including taxing districts funds, with emphasis on compliance, protection of principal, liquidity and maximum investment returns.
